My first lessons of marksmanship came when I went through Marine Corps Boot Camp – not too shabby of a place to learn your marksmanship from – and the number one thing I remember learning at 18 laying in the prone position at the 300 yd line was that hitting the target isn’t easy. I could empty a magazine of ill aimed rounds and not hit a thing…it takes proper techniques, position, aim and execution: windage, breathing, trigger control, etc, to hit the black.
